Goshen Stone
Goshen is a type of fieldstone/ ledge quarried in Western Massachusetts. The stone is fractured and quarry operators look for the existing joints to split the stone. This allows Goshen to be quarried in large scale pieces. Colors are a mix of cool and warm. These colors make Goshen a popular natural stone for walkways, patios, steps and walls. The high levels of mica in the stone give it a shine in the sunlight. Goshen forms in the earth in vertical layers and hydraulic wedges split the stone into workable pieces. Goshen is organized in pieces from 1' wide to 10' wide and everything in between. The thickness varies where the thicker pieces are separated for wall product. Flagging can range from 1.5" to 3" thick and XL Landings can get as thick as 8".
Goshen Large Flagging is quarried in 10 - 15 sq ft irregular pieces. This large scale product is an excellent choice for patios, walkways and stepping stones.
Goshen Wallstone is a linear product with face rises from 1" to 12" in height and various lengths.
Goshen XL Landings in lengths from 4' long - 10' long with widths up to 5'. These unique pieces are used for platforms either flush to the ground or as a landscape platform step. You can see these in our One Of A Kind area.
