The Rasmussen Education Center
The Concord Museum in historic Concord, Massachusetts houses one of the oldest and most treasured collections of Americana in the country. The Museum’s nationally significant collection serves as a catalyst for changing exhibitions, extended classroom learning, dynamic programs and publications relevant to an ever-changing world.

When choosing the right stone for their addition it was important to stay true to the historical integrity of Concord. The Fieldstone Strip stone, indigenous to the area, was the right fit for the new stone walls and stone veneer to look like they have always been there.
Founded in 1886, the Museum is a center of cultural enjoyment for the region and a gateway to the town of Concord for visitors from around the world.

Tufts Library Weymouth, MA
Plymouth Quarries of Hingham MA was chosen to provide the extensive stone materials for the $33 million 50,000 sqft town library, including the Weymouth Granite stone veneer that is a major design element of the building.

The project was a cooperative venture between the town of Weymouth and the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program, that awarded Weymouth over $12 million for its construction. CTA Construction worked alongside Tappe Architects, Inc. and the project manager Hill International. The project demolished the existing 50-year-old Tufts Library building, removing precast panels of Weymouth Granite in April 2019 for later use at the new Tufts Library amphitheater.
The new library includes an expanded children’s services department, community meeting rooms, open reading areas, study rooms, a local history center, and the outdoor amphitheater along with other outdoor open spaces. The new Tufts Library also features innovative technology, including a media lab that supports computer modeling and advanced audio-visual projects with upgraded public computers and wireless internet.
